Cerro Dragón combined cycle power plant, Comodoro Rivadavia, Chubut, Argentina.

Pan American Energy LCC has awarded SENER Ingeniería y Sistemas in partnership with Techint the contract for converting the power plant of the Cerro Dragón natural gas and oil field in the southern Argentine province of Chubut to a combined cycle.

The first stage of the contract involves developing the plant’s engineering, so as to later progress to an EPCM (Engineering, Procurement, Construction and Management) contract, which also includes the construction stage, assembly and testing. Once the cycle has been completed, the plant will generate 160 MW.

  • Power Island composed by two (2) Gas turbines dual fuel, two (2) HRSG with dual pressure and one (1) Steam turbine, dry cooling by an Air Cooled Condenser.

  • Scope of the Contract: LSTK for the engineering, procurement (main equipment supplied by Customer), construction and commissioning of the Power plant.
